Our Story
More important than all of that was the damage to my son, mentally, physically, emotionally and medically. My son was having problems with anger, tantrums, his skin, he was scared to sleep and he had no attention span.
Instead of seeking assistance from the same medical community that stole my familiy's life, money and memories, we turned to a chiropractor, Dr. Rick Hasemeier (please see link below and visit his website to learn more) who diagnosed my son with a gluten, dairy and soy allergy.
Essentially, my son would ingest gluten, soy and/or diary, the allergic reaction he presented with was that of an infection -ear infection with nasal congestion. When we took him to the family doctor, he would prescribe antibiotics which he was also allergic to. This would then amplify the original allergic response and then present as if he had asthma. When we would take him to the hospital, the hospital doctors would take him off of the antiobiotics and give him breathing treatments, he would then within 3 days return to normal. Then the hospital would send us home, with instructions to re-start the antibiotics. Thus within 24 hours of returning home my son would present with asthmatic symptons - causing us to return to the hospital
We immediately cut out the gluten, the soy and the dairy and noticed significant improvements in my son's health, attention, hyperactivity, emotions and quality of life. With a family of 6 it was very hard to find any assistance in attempting to provide a gluten free, dairy free and soy free diet. To help others who find themsleves in a similar position, we have set off to give a roadmap and guidance to so you can avoid that impossible path that we, as a family, survived.

To get answers, my wife and I tried taking our son to another city, however, the treatment was the same as was the failure to diagnose. On one occasssion, I made the mistake of asking a doctor if my son could be allergic to the antibiotics because the order of events was always the same; not only was I laughed at, but I was also scolded because people "don't have that type of reaction to medicine" and I should get rid of my dogs and cat. Ultimately, my son had an ear infection was prescribed antibiotics, which we gave to him and he swelled up to the point that he could barely get air into his lungs. Instead of taking him to a children's hospital in either of the two cities we had previously gone to, we took him to an adult hospital, where he was finally appropriately diagnosed with an allergy to cephalosporans the antibiotic.
Three years of my life, my wife's life, my daugher's life and the first two years of my other son's life were destroyed...missing.
We lost so many family memories that anger fills my being when I look back at those years. Econmically we were destroyed. Money was going out faster than it could come in and I was missing work trying to be with my son in the hospital.

Baloons, a cake, family, presents, candles, smiles, laughter and a party normally fill a child's life on his first birthday. Unfortunately, for my son, two days prior to his first birthday my wife and I noticed him pulling at his ears. Like any parent we took him to the doctor. The doctor prescribed antibiotics for my son and sent us home. On Nicholas' first birthday, two days later, we woke up to find him wheezing and struggling to breath. We rushed him to the nearest medical center. While there, the doctors, gave him I.V.s steriods and breathing treatments and took him off of the antibiotics. After a few days in the hospital, they sent us home with instructions to re-start the antibiotics.
Within two days we returned to the hospital because of my son's inability to breathe and the same treatment as before followed. This same order of events continued for nearly 3 years. During this three year period my wife & I begged the doctors to find out what was causing the breathing issues. I was told that it was dust, me smoking (I did quit, my dogs, cats, the grass, molds, my sister's dogs, and the change in the weather. My son was hospitalized more than 30 times over a three year period & had more steriods, antibiotics & x-rays than a person should have in a lifetime.
